Full of healing antioxidants, sterols, polysaccharides, beta-glucans, betulinic acid, and essential vitamins & minerals, Chaga has been used traditionally for centuries for its adaptogenic, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antimicrobial, antitumor, anticarcinogenic, and immune-modulating actions.  A polypore mushroom that parasitizes trees (mostly birch) in cold climates throughout the world, creating a crusty, blackened mass conk which emerges from inside the tree’s cambium layer and eventually pushes out through the tree’s bark.  Known for its ability to normalize blood pressure and cholesterol levels, consuming Chaga (by tea or tincture) also supports liver, digestive and immune system health.  Be aware: widespread chopping of Chaga and poor chopping methods can threaten a delicate ecological balance.  If abundance is available, harvest with care and awareness.

Ingredients: Chaga mushrooms*

* Harvested with care in Maine, New Hampshire, & Vermont

Suggested use:

Store in a cool. dark, dry place.

Decoct chaga for many hours to create a strong tea. Sip and taste for your desired strength; you can always dilute or add a natural sweetener.  As it simmers on the stovetop, woodstove, or in a crock pot, be sure to add more water. Remember, you can extract a lot of potent tea from small amounts of chaga.  Get creative with your blending & play around.  Enjoy chaga chai with reishi, ginseng, ashwagandha root, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, vanilla bean pods and raw honey; add cacao if you like!
